Damp and mould is becoming a widespread problem across the housing stock in the United Kingdom.

The seriousness of poorly managed mould and dampness has been well documented recently in the press, highlighting the tragic consequences. All too often we have seen clients clean, remediate, and repair buildings without adequately addressing the root cause only to see the problem return.

Through the combined services of 2CT Consulting, we provide our clients with Mould and Damp Technical Assessments. Our assessments are designed to technically assess the property to identify the cause of the damp and mould and to assist in a remediation strategy.

Our team’s expert knowledge enables us to build up a comprehensive assessment of the building fabric, including maintenance or construction failures, its thermal performance and detailing, ventilation systems, and how air and moisture move around and through the building.

For more complex cases we can complete 3D thermal modelling to investigate and prove junctions, interfaces or potential areas of failure. We use this function to develop methods of remediation as well.

Mould and Damp Technical Assessments

We can provide a detailed assessment with a combination of services including:

  • Trained Retrofit Coordinators who have specialist knowledge of how a building should work.
  • Our Thermographers use thermal imaging to assess the fabric of a building.
  • Our ventilation specialists will review the performance and application of the building’s ventilation systems.
  • Our air pressure testing specialists consider how air and moisture are moving through the building fabric.
